OMAHA, Neb. —
The holiday break started off on a fun note Friday for Omaha fifth- and sixth-graders attending an overnight event held by the Police Athletics for Community Engagement organization, or PACE.
The event, called Overnight Adventure, started at 6 p.m. Friday at the Christie Heights Recreation Center near 37th and Q streets and runs through 8 a.m. Saturday.
"We wanted to kind of engage with the kids, they're out of school now through Omaha Public Schools. So we figured we'd do something for them," said PACE Administrator Ray Fidone.
